Scrappin' away the time

Im so glad I have something else to do besides cleaning this house and laundry because after about an hour, the house is clean and I do all my laundry on Monday's. The rest of the week I was piddling away my time doing nothing so I got into my scrap room and got back to it. Here are a few of my new layouts.

Of course I had to scrap my son with the Quad County Trophy. Paper is from the DCWV (Die Cuts with a View) High School Stack. Im a HUGE fan of DCWV papers as you can see how cool they are and sometime's make scrapping so easy. With cool papers like these all you need is a photo, some matting and embellishments and whalla, awesome page.

I like to keep things mostly simple and then add to it. I have a problem with not wanting to add to much to a layout because I think less is more. I do love me some thickers though. Background paper I can't remember where it came from but the plaid and cut out trees are from the DCWV Fall Stack 2008.

Love this picture of my husband and I on the boardwalk in Ocean City. I had this old kit in a drawer that was just perfect for it.

Another easy page with some DCWV papers. These are from the Doodlin' Around stack. All I needed to add was some doodling, journalling and some felt ribbon.

At Scrap Freak, Monica posted a link to a flower tutorial on the Pink Paisley site. Super cute flowers made with patterned paper, a large brad and a tiny rubber band. I just had to try it out and then made two more to add to this layout. Papers are all from the DCWV Citrus Stack. I decided to doodle my flourishes instead of using my flourish stamps for a hand doodled look since I'd outlined the flowers and all the paper pieces as well. I love how it turned out.

Thanks for lookin'!

My Scrapping Partner

My daughter Brandy is totally into stamps and punches and anything sparkly and pretty. She moved her desk into my scrap room about a month ago. At any time that Mama is scrapping, so is Brandy so I decided to share her projects too.

I got a new butterfly punch a while ago and just had to try it out. She decided she wanted blue butterflies on black paper. Good choice I thought! Then she said she wanted some of those "sticky uppy" things (pop up adhesive squares lol) so what the heck. This is what we ended up with.

Brandy has her own bin full of paper, kits, die cuts, stamps, ink pads and more. I was scrapping the other day and turned around to find her inking the side of a die cut just like Mommy does. And then she made me a pretty layout!

And yesterday, she wanted to know if I had any more of that sparkly paper I used for my 80's Dance Album and she went to town using my scraps. Im not sure what she is going to make with it. She just likes to glue stuff together.

Tinkerbell v/s Obi Wan Kanobi

My kids are at totally different ends of the spectrum. He's Mr Star Wars Science and Space and she's all Princess Diva Fairy don' mess with me or I'll turn you into a toad kinda girl. Trust me with her attitude, Tinkerbell would win this fight.

Trying to keep busy

Tim and I are trying to keep busy. He's been doing work for his parents neighbor who are in their 80s and I've been doing random stuff. The house is clean and the laundry is done on Monday's so I pretty much have the rest of the week to do nothing.

As you know my son's team, actually all 3 Lisbon Little Blue Devil's football teams won the Quad County Championship. Now that football and cheer is over there is much more time at our house for family, fun, cooking, and and studying.

Tanner's grades didn't make honor roll this nine weeks so we are busting his butt to get them where they usually are. He's being lazy. Forgetting things, not turning things in, losing things. It's driving us crazy but we know he can do it. Just a matter of time.

Fall has come and when the frosts finally come, the leaves turn and fall quickly so my kids get right out there to play in them before it rains. If it rains they can't play in them because of Tanner's asthma. I love the colors Ohio trees turn. All shades of red purple green and orange all mixed together but the Sugar Maple are all one color and leave a beautiful blanket of orange to play in. Now they're all raked up and gone until the big Oak drops it's boatload.

Cooking, cleaning, being a mom again

I've been on unemployment for about a month now and I must say, I LOVE BEING AT HOME. I know I know I'll get bored and have to go get a job soon but lemme just tell you something. My house is clean almost all the time, I get the laundry put away, not just washed, dried and folded into a basket. I cook every night without having to rush home after work exhausted and doing it. Im not completely exhausted and stressed out because my job sucked and my back doesn't hurt. That there is a major bonus for me. NO PAIN. Well there's my usual morning stiffness but that's just the arthritis.

Now that football and cheer is over, I've been trying to fit in some scrappy time for Mama but we've had continual sicknesses at my house. Several colds that all 5 of us had and then Tanner Brandy and I had a 24 hour flu. High fever and weak but fortunately no other nasty symptoms and not H1N1. This coming Monday everyone should be back in school so I can scrap and create some cards for a class a friend wants me today. Christmas Cards? Yikes.

Tim is now laid off also... again but with our combined unemployment benefits, we're ok. He's going to get signed up to go to school and I just might do the same. For what? I have no idea but, it's a goal right?

I haven't decorated for fall yet and Halloween is over. I guess I'll go straight into Thanksgiving/Fall.

Another thing I need to start is Christmas shopping. Today is Nov 1st and I've not bought a thing. I torture myself every year thinking Im going to start early and whoops, here I am again. Im going to be the bargain shopper even more so this year and will probably unfortunately have to shop on Black Friday. ICK! I hate shopping on that day.

Well off to finish cleaning the toilets. Ewww! Im having company tonight.

Yes Maam, I have scrapped

And it's been a long time coming. With all the football and cheer practices, games, work and cheer competitions we have been very busy at our house since the beginning of August. We're in our last two weeks of the season and although it's been a great one, I'll be glad when it's over. The boys and girls have all done a fantastic job. As of right now all 3 Lisbon Little Blue Devil teams are 4-0. I think that's incredible.

On the bitter sweet side, I got fired from my job. Bitter sweet because yes I am jobless but sweet because I am glad. I was sick of that place, sick of being yelled at by a man who has no respect for women and back stabbed by the drama queens that worked there. I will miss My A's Crew (Ashley Brit Tess Katie Erin Travis Jason and Paula) but the they're all slowly leaving so BU BYE!

Another sweet part is I am home all day, my house is clean, my laundry is always done and I've been scrapping.

Check out some of my latest.

SCRAPS N SUCH IS BAAAAAAAAAACK

I missed my friends so much and being a part of their lives so I created a free forum for us on Yuku. No it's not the same as it was before but with the economy the way it is, I just can't justify paying hosting fees when I can have free space. Come on back or come on in and join us. http://scrapsnsuch1.yuku.com/
